Earthwork & Site Grading in Miami-Dade & Broward

Every project starts below grade. PEC clears, excavates, and shapes your site to exact plan elevations using company-owned heavy equipment and operators on our own payroll from raw land through a balanced, compacted, plan-grade pad.

OVERVIEW

Site Preparation Done to Plan

Earthwork is where a project succeeds or struggles. Poor subgrade and sloppy grading lead to drainage problems, pavement failures, and costly delays down the line and in South Florida, where limestone rock and muck can both turn up on the same parcel, subsurface conditions rarely match the assumption.

PEC treats earthwork as the precision discipline it is. Our crews handle clearing, demolition, mass and structural excavation, embankment, and fine grading, all verified against survey control set by our own layout crews. Because we also perform the utilities, concrete, and paving that follow, the grade we hand off is the grade the next phase actually needs.

What's Included

Land clearing & grubbing · Demolition & site stripping · Mass & structural excavation.

Grading & Compaction

Cut-and-fill / earthwork balancing · Soil placement & compaction · Subgrade preparation · Precision finish & fine grading.

Site Water Management

Erosion & sediment control · Lake / retention pond excavation.

Material Logistics

Import & export of material.

How We Execute Every Scope

01

Survey Control & Site Assessment

Our layout crews establish control and verify existing elevations against your plans before equipment mobilizes. Rock, muck, or unsuitable material gets identified at this stage, when it's still a planning question rather than a change order.

02

Clearing & Mass Excavation

Crews clear, grub, and strip the site, then move to mass excavation. Company-owned excavators, dozers, and haul trucks work as one coordinated operation rather than separate rented pieces on separate schedules.

03

Placement, Compaction & Testing

Fill is placed in lifts and compacted to specification, with density testing performed by PEC's own crews as the work proceeds. Failed compaction gets corrected in place, not discovered at inspection.

04

Finish Grading & Handoff

Final grading is cut to plan elevation and verified against survey control. The pad is turned over ready for utilities, foundations, or paving — with as-built documentation for your engineer.

CAPACITY

EQUIPMENT & CREW CAPACITY

Heavy Equipment and Operators on Our Own Payroll

PEC owns its earthmoving fleet outright — excavators, bulldozers, motor graders, vibratory compactors, and a dedicated trucking fleet for fill, aggregate, and debris. No rental scheduling, no waiting on availability, and no third-party logistics between your schedule and the machine you need.

Professional Equipment Corp. is a full-scope site work and civil construction contractor serving commercial, municipal, industrial, and residential clients throughout South Florida since 2004. Certified General Contractor, License #CGC1524147.

Earthwork & Grading — Common Questions

Common questions from general contractors, developers, and agencies about PEC's surveying, testing, and Maintenance of Traffic scope across Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

Does PEC handle land clearing and demolition?

Yes. PEC performs land clearing, grubbing, site stripping, and demolition as part of earthwork scope, with company-owned equipment and in-house crews.

Can PEC excavate retention ponds and lakes?

Yes. Lake and retention pond excavation is part of PEC's earthwork scope — common on master-planned residential and commercial developments across South Florida.

How does PEC handle South Florida's rock and muck conditions?

Subsurface conditions are assessed against plan elevations before excavation begins. Unsuitable material is identified early so removal, replacement, and import volumes are planned rather than discovered mid-production.

Does PEC perform its own compaction testing?

Yes. Density testing and compaction verification are performed by PEC's in-house crews, which keeps correction of failed compaction on the same schedule as construction.

What areas does PEC serve for excavation and grading?

PEC works throughout Miami-Dade and Broward counties from its Miami headquarters at 2900 NW 33rd Avenue, including Miami, Hialeah, Doral, Fort Lauderdale, and Palmetto Bay.
